Globus sensation?: Not sure about the heart beat part of the question. The feeling of having a persistent lump in one's throat (without actually having a lump) is known as globus sensation or globus pharyngeus. Typically exacerbated by acid reflux or excessive post-nasal drainage. It is quite common.
