Go to the ER: Hi, Sorry to hear about what happened. If you are still having discomfort, it may be lodged in your esophagus, depending on what the bar to the lip ring looked like. If you aren't coughing, it probably didn't go into the lungs. Generally these things can pass through the GI tract on their own but if you're continuing to have symptoms I'd go to an ER.
