Postmenopausal bleed: Thyroid disease can certainly effect the menstrual cycle. This is because thyroid hormone and two of the hormones that affect the ovary ( FSH/LH) are very similar chemically. After menopause this is less true. Postmenopausal bleeding should be evaluated for the most common causes. One should not assume thyroid disease is the cause
