A member asked:

Been having 3 heavy periods a month. going through menopause( i hope). i'm 44.no insurance to go to doc. can you bleed to death this way?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Heavy bleeding is common in peri-menopause, but you need to see a doctor to make sure you don't have a precancerous uterus causing the heavy bleeding. You can also become anemic and require blood transfusion or surgery. Try the university clinic for low cost care.
