Hello doc, ovarian serous cystadenoma of 7.4cms was diagnosed accidentally, . mri confirms the condition. ca 125 value is 11.44. i do not have any bleeding problems. i had got my last period in may 2015.i was advised open hysterectomy. please advic?

The mass needs to: come out. Removing the ovarian mass is essential for your health. It would be better to have the uterus and both ovaries removed at the same time. Wish you good health!

Have hysterectomy: While simple serous cysts of the ovary less than 10 cm are usually benign, the serous cystadenoma of 7.4 cm; is one of high risk. Here hysterectomy bilateral SO is the procedure of choice. The use of CA 125 is of no value in diagnosis being relegated to monitoring The term here refers to Carbohydrate Antigen.
