Talk to his doctor: There are many factors involved in the surgical treatment of carpal tunnel syndrome. Degree of disease, age of patient, co-morbid conditions etc. all play a role in recovery. Please speak to his doctor to understand better what were the expectations regarding surgery, as well as the anticipated recovery time given his history and evaluation.
