A member asked:

I have petechiae on my right shin. is this a symptom of cirrhosis? have elevated alt of 70 but clear ultrasound

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not: Hi Laurel Sorry to hear you are feeling so worried. Out of the tests you mentioned, the most sensitive test for picking up early cirrhosis is the ultrasound. If it is "clear", I doubt that the petechiae you are seeing are due to what we call "decompensated cirrhosis". An ALT of 70 is only marginally elevated and by itself, is not diagnostic of cirrhosis. Hope this helps!
