A member asked:

Alt76 clear ultrasound seem to have dysautonomia is this a symptom of cirrhosis? would cirrhosis have shown on ultrasound?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not necessarily: Ultrasound may not have sufficient resolution to detect cirrhosis. Elevated ALT alone is not an indication of cirrhosis either. If you have any concerns about cirrhosis, due to alcohol use or chronic hepatitis, you should consult a doctor for an evaluation. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex.
