A member asked:

How long should it take for cefdinir to clear an ear infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Define "clear": Studies suggest when the germs in the middle ear fluid are susceptible to the med, they have been killed by 3-5 days into treatment with the standard 10 day course of the meds. Depending on the age and other factors it can take 3-6 weeks before the middle ear fluid and debris clear and hearing returns to baseline.
