Ear infection in left ear has caused muffled hearing. feel like ear is plugged. prescribed amox-clav after course of cefdinir didnt clear up infection. how much longer until clogged feeling goes away? is amox-clav better for infection?

The ear can feel plugged up even when there is not an infection. The amox-clav works very well for the actual infection but the plugged feeling sometimes is only due to eustachian tube dysfunction which is treated with nasal sprays and antihistamines. Followup with the doctor if the plugged feeling is not cleared with the antibiotics.
