Prolonged fever: Pediatricians generally consider a persistent fever after 3 days of antibiotic use a possible treatment failure, and will sometimes change to another. The alternative of course, is that your baby has a viral infection which will not respond to ANY antibiotic! Your baby's doctor would likely want to know of symptoms that are persisting.
