Needs consultation: Babies may not show any "clinical " signs of hypothyroidism but still have a need for thyroid meds. The brain growth is so important in infants that you should be very sure the kid does not need them before you stop, or you put baby's developmental progress at risk. Of the newborn screenings the thyroid test is one I find more likely to be falsely positive.Yet I let the endocrine guys decide
