Use hot packs: A stye is due to an infection at the edge of the eyelid where the oil producing (Meibomian) glands are blocked. Using a warm compress (many patients find relief by using a small potato that will fit in your palm and heating it up for one minute on high in a microwave) then wrapping it up in a wet wash cloth and applying it to the stye for 10 min (BE SURE TO TEST IT ON YOUR WRIST FIRST - NO BURN)
