Second Opinion: If you had root canal therapy in 2014 and continued to have pain following treatment, you should have been re-evaluated to determine why you were still having pain. If a recent x-ray shows excess RCT filling material in the sinus, that certainly could be contributing to the problem. If your dentist does not address it, you may want to get another opinion from an endodontist.

Possibly: Pain and swelling are usually caused by an infection... the filling material is inert. Please have this tooth evaluated by an oral surgeon or an endodontist... both of these specialists can remove the excess material.
