Not Usually...: ... but it does happen. Was the tooth infected? Infection may have returned. Was the tooth very broken down? It may be fractured. Call your treating dentist for a follow up appointment.

Pain: Not normal. Return for a reevaluation to the treating Dentist or Endodontic Specialist who did your root canal treatment.

Contact DDS: Was the tooth restored? Possible variables include tooth fracture, incomplete fill or wash out of the provisional material if not restored, see your dentist for a definitive diagnosis.
