Ask for consult: You may benefit from seeing an oral surgeon and getting re-evaluated from someone removed from the initial problem. Hope this is better soon.

Root Canals: Unfortunately not all root canal treatments are successful. There can be a fracture on the root or a fourth micro canal that was missed. If your regular dentist is not able to stop your pain ask him to refer you for a second opinion to an endodontist. If he says your tooth can be saved have him treat you. If not fixable, have the tooth removed and replace the tooth with a bridge or an implant.

Ask 2 see specialist: If the pain(bearable) has not subsided after a few weeks, or if the pain is unbearable, then ask your dentist to refer you to an endodontist (root canal specialist). The endodontist will be able to determine if there are maybe extra canals, or severe curves on the root(s) which were not addressed.

Piossible fracture: Visit an endodontic specialist to evaluate the tooth for split or vertical fracture. Pain should resolve with root canal treatment if the tooth structure is normal and healthy.
