I have an appointment for scaling in a few of weeks. i bought a waterpik to improve homecare but am bleeding alot. should i continue to use it anywa?

Dentist: This question should be answered by your dentist or periodondist. Stop aspirin or nsaids like Aleve,Advil. Rinsing with cold water helps severe bleeding to stop. Gingivitis must be present for such easy bleeding to occur.

Bleeding gums: Bleeding gums indicate inflammatory gum disease. Continue using Water-Pik on lowest setting. Use daily until your appointment. At scaling appointment review oral hygiene procedures with your Dentist/Hygienist. If you are accumulating tarter, your oral hygiene procedures are inadequate. Ask Dentist if referral to a Periodontist is in order.
