Red swollen gums: You haven't said how long and how often this has been occurring. If you do not have a periodontal infection, then you may have a medical problem. Possibilities include viral infection, fungal infection, systemic illness. You may want to seek a second dental opinion, and have a thorough medical examination, especially if the bleeding gums is a long-standing condition.
