Concerns valid: Medication might be part of the approach to addressing this chronic disabling problem, but not usually the best first choice, especially potentially addictive ones like Valium. Would recommend asking your primary care provider to refer you to an experienced psychotherapist who has expertise in meditation among her/his approaches & who works closely with a psychiatrist if medication is needed.

You Betcha': Valium (Benzodiazepine family) extremely habit forming and not a fix but just a masking of your symptoms. Yes short term use is the rule (7 to 10 days) A visit with a psychiatrist/ psychologist to get to the root of the problem to learn coping skills behav mod CBT Daily low impact exercise to increase Serotonin, Dopamine, Norepi levels, and OTC melatonin SL for quality sleep which is paramount.
