Longer time to heal: The average fracture takes about 6 weeks to heal. The key is whether you are healing clinically (less pain, less swelling, normal motion and proper alignment) and whether the X-ray is demonstrating improvement (new bone and smaller fracture lines). Continue to follow up with your physician.

Not unusual : It would usually take about 8 weeks for such a fracture to heal and it would not be uncommon at all to not see much at 4 weeks. The main reason to check an X-ray at 4 weeks is not really to see if it is healed, but rather to make sure it has not displaced.
