The answer depends: on why you 1) have a mean platelet volume (MPV) test to begin with (usually is part of routine CBC) and 2) if you have chronic problems with platelets. As it is, if everything else is absolutely perfect on the CBC panel especially the platelet count, then you should not worry too much. If you also have anemia and low platelet count, then you need to have more blood tests to determine why.
