MPV Normal Values: The mean platelet volume should be above 7.9 and below 9.8 for an adult female. Low values may indicate an underproduction of platelets and high values usually indicate platelet destruction by some underlying disorder. The absolute platelet count should also be determined - it usually runs between 150 ANS 450, 000. Follow up with your physician to make sure you don't have thrombocytopenia.
