Different care : ER will provide you with point of care testing such as ECG and rapid blood tests. They will not perform a Stress ECG or echocardiography or holter monitoring to decide on the cause of your palpitations. I would recommend keeping your appointment with Cardiology but if you develop worsening of symptoms or associated chest pain, breathlessness or duzxibesss, you need to go to ER immediately
