Depends: If by "displaced" you mean literally "out of place" then you may have a dislocated toe which is very different from a simple broken toe. A broken toe can usually be taped to the next toe and crutches aren't necessary unless it hurts to walk putting pressure on another part of your foot. A dislocated one may need to be put back in place. Have you had an x-ray? If so, ask the person who ordered.
