6 to 8 weeks: For a healthy individual, bone normally takes 6-8 weeks to heal. If you're still having pain and swelling 3 months in, you may want to see the doctor treating you for this for follow up xrays. It is possible that the fracture fragments shifted or that the fracture line hasn't healed yet. This is called a delayed union.

Need an x-ray: You need an x-ray to determine if the fracture is healed. At 3 months it should be healed.
