If it hurts that... : ...much, I don't see why crutches wouldn't be a bad idea. Just keep off it as much as you can and ice it as much as you can. An OTC oral anti-inflammatory will help. After a few days, the pain should subside a great deal

Yes: If you are having trouble walking, then I would recommend crutches.
