6-8 weeks: Toe fractures usually heal in 6-8 weeks where the fracture has bridging bone on x-ray and the fragments become stable. Swelling may persist for months. Wrist dislocations heal slower because the ligaments are ruptured and may take months to resolve.

6-8 weeks: Bone fractures are generally healed completely in 6-8 weeks. It is safe to say there is some degree of osteoporosis in a 81 year old but this is a general rule.
