Knee injury, motorcycle accident. bent backward, possible dislocation, leg straightened, popped back in. motion tested ok. xray no broken bone, unremarkable soft tissue. 6 days later still aching/pain, can't move on own, how long to heal? mri need?

It is still early, you should still wear knee immobilization device and use a crutch at this time. It takes at least another week or more for the symptoms to improve significantly. If knee's range of motion is still limited after a couple months, MRI should be considered by then.
