Crossbite: At your age, orthodontics will most likely not do the trick. You would require a combination of orthodontics and orthognathic surgery to alter your tooth alignment. You've lived this way for years without issue. You can probably leave it and never experience any issues related to the crossbite.

Discuss: Discuss this with your Dentist, or consult with a fully qualified Orthodontist. If you have no problems, no excessive wear, no bone or him support loss, no joint problems, etc., you may not need treatment. But do discuss this with someone who can physically examine your occlusion.

It Depends!: Teeth are not designed to grow into cross bite. So usually we want to fix them to prevent their wear over time. But in certain cases, and with proper diagnosis, we can leave teeth in complete crossbite when the patient doesn't want to get treatment to fix it. It isn't the best, but second best. So my recommendation to you is to visit an orthodontist

Could vs should: I completely agree with the other orthodontists who have replied already-- it's best to have this checked out. Completely disagree with the general dentist who replied, however, saying that ortho can not fix the problem at your age. We have fixed this many, many, many times in patients your age and older. Maybe that's why were trained orthodontists & as a general dentist he is not trained to know!

To Fix or Not: Many people in 3rd world nations live quite well w/o orthodontic intervention. If you are not experiencing any dental problems associated with your cross bite nor wish to correct it, ask your dentla professional/orthodontic specialist the pros vs cons of correction. You have choices in life, just make informed decisions.
