Not necessarily: Thre are situations where you and the orthodontist may decide to leave a posterior cross bite. Sometimes correcting this may be necessary to achieve what you're looking for, but not always. See an orthodontist for an exam to discuss what is possible. I know one orthodontist close to you who will do a free exam to discuss your options (it's my wife). Ph: 317-888-9833, www.Shankorthodontics.Com.

Braces: I am not sure what you want to ask. Regardless, a consultation with orthodontist will really help you answer your questions. Just remember that adult orthodontics(braces) is as successful as it is in children. So yes, there is hight possibility that your cross bite will be fixed after you have braces.

Nope: Posterior cross bites actually function quite well for many people. Cosmetically a narrow upper arch can reduce the number of visible teeth in your smile. Sometimes it makes your smile seem to stop behind your front teeth and that can be improved with braces. If you have cosmetic or functional concerns then go for it, you'll just wish you did it long time ago.

Not always: But if cross bite is not resolved any and all other treatment will be compromised. If cross bite is because teeth are out of position re-aligning the teeth may correct it. If skeletal (usually upper jaw too narrow) the jaw itself will require widening. Please seek an Initial Examination (usually free) with a well qualified Orthodontic Specialist for a competent answer.
