Can braces to fix a posterior crossbite potentially make your jaw alignment look worse/more asymmetrical face?

Should help: Are you satisfied with the symmetry of your face now? Braces can change the shape of your face from profile and straight on. Usually, solving problems with your bite and straightening teeth helps with facial symmetry. Consult with your orthodontist and get a second opinion. If you hear the same thing twice, then feel comfortable to move forward.

Should be better: braces can change the shape of your face, but it helps create symmetry not make things worse. If you have concerns with your treatment, go back and discuss with your orthodontist

Should help: Posterior crossbites in children can often be fixed with Orthodontic treatment alone. In non-growing adults jaw surgery is often indicated. When guided by a fully qualified Orthodontic Specialist treatment should improve, not compromise, facial esthetics. Remember that crossbite correction is only one step in overall malocclusion correction. Make sure you're seeing a Specialist.
