Yes: We use different type of drugs for prevention. Anti- seizure medicine topomax is probably one of the most commonly used daily medications to prevent them. Other options include beta blockers like inderal (propranolol) and tricyclic anti-depressants like pamelor. Fever few, which is a natural herb, is the most commonly used substance in Great Britain and works pretty well to prevent them, as does Magnesium
