Parathyroid: 38 F from Lebanon has bone scan with osteoporosis and PTH OF 84 Ca 10.1 no parathyroid adenoma. what can I do? 1. Always include normal range for lab values as they may differ by country. Adenomas can be very small or outside of thyroid. You need to see and endocrinologist. We have good ones here. Such as Dr Katz. Would ask for second opinion.

There are many other reasons why you could be Osteopenic, even with those test results you have mentioned - A family history of low BMD, not getting enough exercise, a diet lacking calcium and vitamin D, smoking or using other forms of tobacco, drinking too much alcohol or caffeine, taking medications like prednisone or phenytoin, other conditions (anorexia, bulimia, Cushing’s syndrome, lupus) etc
