See below: Azithromycin 1g: a treatment of choice for urethritis and cervicitis as most of these infections are due to gonorrhea and/or Chlamydia. Same dose also used for Rx of the STD "Chanchroid." PID can be difficult diagnosis to make and cultures not always positive. Pelvic/lower abdominal pain, tenderness on pelvic exam, vaginal discharge, fever usual symptoms. 2 weeks of oral antibiotics in mild cases
