Keep moving...: The general thought is that varicose veins, the hallmark of venous insufficiency, is caused by several things, including heredity, being overweight, pregnancy, standing and sitting for long periods and just general inactivity. Exercise is probably best for both immediate treatment and prevention of varicose veins. Being mobile and moderate exercising is best. Walking is fine but avoid running.

Wear sup hose ?: Consider wearing supportive hose when standing or walking for long. Else I agree with what were recommended.

Veins: It depends on symptoms and skin issues Most of the time surgery is not necessary as laser can seal the vein internally with just a needle puncture
