Ask your doctor...: TJLB has become more superior than percutaneous approach to obtain live tissue to guide treatment for chronic liver diseases esp. for patients with ascite, severe obesity, after liver transplant, etc., & can be performed under ultrasound guidance without contrast so kidney function would be less likely affected. Despite still existing debate on its application, decision maker is you; so, ask doc.
