My college student had mono. just found out that this virus can cause ms and lymphoma in the future. i am so worried. anything to prevent it? help!

Mononucleosis: Mono is soused by a viral infection, the Epstein-Barr virus. Severe fatigue,Headache.Sore throat, which sometimes can be very severe, Chills, followed by a fever,Muscle aches, abdominal pain from an enlarged spleen. Treatment is symptomatic, rest, Aleve, (naproxen) Percocet, and antiviral: Zovirax tabs can be added PO.

Clarification: Epstein-Barr virus infections can be associated with MS, and might increase risk in susceptible patients, but does NOT CAUSE MS, so stop worrying. Take care of the mono as recommended by Dr Novitsky.
