Give it time: Monospot test is specific for mono infection, so most probably this is what she has. I would recommend to keep her being evaluated by the primary physician or ENT. If neck nodes do not change in a couple of weeks, then fine needle biopsy would be advise, but most probably not with a positive Monospot test. Hope this helps. Still no contact sports for several weeks.
