Discoloration: under the toenail that isn't going away should be looked at. It may be something as simple as bruising or fungus... however, I would still recommend seeing a Podiatrist for a definitive diagnosis and treatment plan.

Any Trauma.....: Dark "patches" appearing under the toenail can be difficult when determining depth. The patch could be in the nail itself, in nail bed or trapped within the space between the nail bed and the nail. As the nail grows, the patch could move with the nail or remain stationary. I advise that you take a few pictures for documentation and later comparison. A Healthtap specialist can offer you a treatment
