I have just found a small dark spot on the top of my little toe, i cut my toe nails a few days ago, and am fairly sure it wasn't there then. do i need to see a doctor?

Possibly: It is difficult to say for sure without taking a look. Usually spots like that, that come up suddenly are not concerning. But they need to be monitored and if getting bigger or painful then immediate attention is required. If not can be monitored and if not improving should be evaluated.
