BG 166: Fasting blood glucose at 166 is a bit too high. Several things to consider -- 1: What treatment are you getting for diabetes? Insulin and/or pills? Once you let me know what you are taking I can advise you about improving your diabetes. 2: For now, please check your blood glucose on Monday morning, Tuesday night, etc. and see where things are going OK or not. Please let me know how things go!

Start now!: A fasting blood sugar >125mg/dL is diagnostic of diabetes. The sooner you are able to obtain normal blood sugars, the less risk for the development of microvascular complications (retinopathy, nephropathy or neuropathy) as well as macrovascular complications (heart attack and stroke).
