Gallbladder maybe.: Depending on your symptoms, an elevated wbc is a sign of infection or inflammation. One organ which gets inflamed frequently is the gallbladder which is just beneath the liver. Whenever your doctor orders tests for you, its OK for you to ask what it's for. Your doctor should be able to explain it quickly and understandably to your satisfaction.
