Yes, HIDA: One can have gall bladder disease and still have normal liver function tests. The hida scan is for evaluating the gall bladder function. The hida scan looks at gall bladder function while the ultrasound looks at gallbladder anatomy . A hida scan can still find gall bladder disease with a normal ultrasound and normal liver function tests.

Probably: Someone can still have gallbladder disease wthout having abnormal liver function/labs. If symptoms are related to the right upper abdomen, gallbladder could be the problem. A hida study would help assess that.
