Contact DDS: If it was a high spot, which is an occusal discrepancy, give it a couple of days. If the pain persists, go back to the dentist for further investigation, perhaps the original restoration was deep and needs either a sedative restoration, antibiotic therapy or a root canal.

Deep Restoration ?: A new, deep restoration can be painful for a while after being placed. Sometimes a shallow filling can also be uncomfortable... hard to know how deep your filling is. Let your dentist explain this to you since they know your tooth better than anyone over the internet.
