Check with your pediatric dentist. A hygienist cannot give you treatment advice, it has to come from the dentist. If the dentist recommends filling, then have a conversation about sealants. If you are still skeptical, get a second opinion from another pediaric dentist that has examined your child.

Who is making this diagnosis? A hygienist or a Doctor of Dental Medicine. As much as I think of hygienists, and I value what they do, I would not rely solely on their advice. Since I haven’t had an opportunity to examine your daughter, I will only say that it is a very likely possibility that she can have sealants. When was her last exam? How old is your daughter? Good dental hygiene?
