A member asked:

Does lithium work/mix better with tegretol or lamictal for bipolar and which is a more common and safer combination?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lamictal has less : Lamictal has no noted interactions with lithium, however it has to be titrated slow due to possible severe rash. Tegretol is likely safe too but it will need to be increase slowly due to possible of neurotoxicity in combination with lithium. Start low and go slow. As for which works better, it is hard to say, everyone is different.
