Maybe: 1. With my patients with ocd, I have found that anafranil, luvox, and Lexapro are the most effective. Cymbalta is excellent for depression and anxiety, but less so for ocd. 2. Cymbalta 60mgs daily is a good dose for depression, but I have found that 120mgs is better for anxiety. 3. I have not used tegretol for bipolar, but lamictal, Depakote or topamax (topiramate). Talk to your psychiatrist!

Sounds reasonable: This is a very reasonable combination of medications for someone with ocd and bipolar disorder who was under a lot of stress. Looks to me like you have a very good psychiatrist who has a good handle on psychotropic drug management in this combination of disorders. Best wishes.

Possibly: It is important to be properly diagnosed...Ocd and bipolar disorder is a strange combination of diagnoses, and it is possible that it is either one or the other. If so, it would be easier to focus treatment properly. Klonopin is for anxiety, Cymbalta (duloxetine) - mood stability, Lamictal - mood stability, tegretol - mood stability. It does not seem ocd is being treated as primary, possibly erroneously.

Not unusual....: It's not unusual to see ocd and bipolar together. Cymbalta (duloxetine) is not my typical "go-to" drug for ocd; but if you have a pain syndrome, it may be the best choice. For ocd, i would first go to an ssri. Lamictal and tegretol can both be good choices; what matters is, is each one helpful? Discuss with your doctor and good luck !
