You Nailed It.: After treating them for forty years, I believe that all toenails and fingernails are naturally ingrown. It is only when they become symptomatic that we consider them "ingrown". It's simply a matter of chronic or acute pressure and subsequent inflammation involved in healing, that causes the nail to show that "technically' ingrown appearance. Treatment is not always necessary for speedy recovery.

An ingrown nail: actually would not go away, unless you cut a piece of nail away, If there was an infection this sometimes goes away as the body can be strong enough to get rid of the infection….try soaking and applying topical antibiotic but if it does't get better go to your local podiatrist for treatment.
