A Shape Shifter.: Your circumstances would be easier to comment on if the type of nail surgery was known. The redness is at best, a sign of inflammation and at worse, a sign of infection. Whenever the nail is surgerized there is the possibility that the nail root will be affected. It's growth can be stunted or stimulated. This could account for the nail shift. You need to call the surgeon and get the what's what.
