Diet and exercise: The best way to lose weight is eating a healthy, low-glycemic index (lean protein sources and colorful/green vegetables, avoiding starches and beverages with calories) diet and increasing your physical activity until you can exercise for 30 minutes a day. If you do this and maintain this change you should see steady weight loss.

See below: I would need to know much more about you to answer that basically if you exercise like walking 3 miles per day you will increase yor BMR making it easier to lose weight with mainmoa change in diet the same is true for more strenous exercise like running, treadmill or exerbike.
